On Tuesday, February 14, saw Madeline Purdon welcome members to the meeting. Sylvia Geekie has spoken to June Hayes, former President of the WI who is responding well to treatment. Katie Juffs reminded everyone that the blood donor team would be at the WI Hall on Friday, and volunteers were required to serve refreshments. A letter has also been received from Miss Jo Waterhouse (who spoke last year on her forthcoming tip to Uganda). Katie Juffs read out her very chatty letter to the meeting, which was much appreciated. Roma Turner and Madeline Purdon served tea and biscuits, and members had the opportunity to look at wedding photographs members had brought along to compliment the talk on Royal Weddings - from Queen Victoria to our current Prince Andrew. The slide show was presented by Katie Juffs while Lucy Rogers read the commentary, both of which had been supplied by Mrs Lock. The raffle, donated by Greta Bosworth, was drawn and won by Sandra Whitehouse. The next meeting is on Tuesday, March 14 at 7.30pm in the WI Hall and will be the AGM. All members are urged to attend as all the nominated committee and officers will be standing for re-election.
