An elderly woman was involved in a collision with a car in Hitchin this afternoon leaving a busy road closed to traffic.
The crash which took place on Queen Street, near to Asda supermarket in the town at around 12.45, saw the road shut by police at around 1pm.
The woman suffered ‘serious head injuries’ after being hit by a black Hyundai and is currently being treated at the scene by paramedics.
