A woman has been injured and the A505 shut after a two-car crash this afternoon near Hitchin.
The collision happened between Luton and Hitchin – near to the turning for Offley – at around 4.45pm.
An ambulance has been called to treat a woman with head injuries, although a spokesman said it is not believed to be life-threatening.
It is not yet clear if the A505 is shut in both directions or just for motorists travelling towards Hitchin, but there are reports of heavy traffic in the area.
