A DENTAL assistant appeared in court accused of poisoning two of her colleagues with mercury amalgam.

Ravinder Kaur, from Ettrick Drive, Bedford appeared before Luton Crown Court yesterday (Monday) after she was charged with two counts of poisoning her colleagues at a Shefford dental practice earlier this year.

The 33-year-old is being accused of administering poison with intent to annoy, injure or aggrieve.

The charge relates to two separate incidents in March, where two female colleagues had stomach upsets, said to be have been caused by dental mercury poisoning.

The case was adjourned for a trial on January 21 2013.
