A woman in her 60s is currently being flown to hospital by air ambulance with serious leg injuries after being struck by a train this morning.
Emergency services were called to Letchworth railway station at about 10.30am following the incident.
An ambulance, two Hazardous Area Response Team vehicles, a rapid response vehicle, two ambulance officers, an East Anglian Air Medical team car and the East Anglian Air Ambulance – which landed in Broadway Gardens – attended.
No trains are running between Hitchin and Cambridge with delays expected until at least 2.30pm.
