Woman assaulted in second Stevenage sex attack in as many months

A SEX attacker is being hunted after an assault on a young woman in Stevenage in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Police have appealed for witnesses after a woman walking alone near Homestead Moat was approached from behind and assaulted between 1.30am and 1.45am.

Officers do not have a description of the attacker, but asked anyone who saw the victim, who was wearing black and white clothing, or a man loitering in the area to come forward.

Detective Inspector Damien Kennedy said: “It may be that you live locally and were returning home from a night out or from work and saw the victim before, during or after the incident. Did you see any male loitering in the area?”

If you can help, call DI Kennedy via 101, quoting Operation Pallu, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
