A 65-year-old woman is in a critical condition in hospital after being hit by a train yesterday morning in Letchworth.
The woman sustained serious leg injuries and was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge for further care, where she currently remains.
Police are not treating the incident as suspicious.
There were severe delays all day on trains between Hitchin and Cambridge after the incident.
