DETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses after a cash point burglary at a Bedfordshire supermarket.
It took place at around 1.50am on Wednesday at the Co-op Store, in Stotfold, where four men in balaclavas forced entry to the shop’s ATM.
The offenders made their escape with the cashboxes from the machine and fled in a dark blue Audi RS4 Quattro Estate, which headed towards the A507.
The car was later discovered just off the A600 on the outskirts of Chicksands Woods.
Investigating officer, Gary Hales, of the Serious Crime Investigation Team, wants to speak to anyone who saw the incident, the vehicle fleeing, or anyone acting suspiciously around the store prior to the offence.
It’s possible the criminals may have been in the dark blue Audi RS4 Quattro at the time.
Detectives also want to speak to anyone who may have seen the vehicle or anyone behaving suspiciously in or near to Chicksands Woods in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Anyone with information can contact Gary Hales, in confidence, on 01582 473391 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
