A disabled motorist in Stevenage has had his Volvo estate damaged 10 times in a campaign of unprovoked attacks on his passenger-side wing mirror – and police have now appealed for witnesses.

The blue Volvo has been parked in a disabled parking space in Harvey Road each time it has been vandalised, with the attacks happening mostly overnight in the week – and the same wing mirror has been targeted each time.

The most recent attack – at some point after 8pm on the night of Tuesday, December 27 – saw the wing mirror kicked off the car.

PC Steve Beard, who is investigating, said: “There is no clear motive for these incidents that we are aware of and of course the damage comes at a cost and inconvenience for the victim.

“I would ask anyone living in the area who has seen anything suspicious in recent weeks or who has any information on who may be responsible to please contact police.”
