The spirit of Robin Hood revived by the new Ridley Scott/Russell Crowe film is also alive and well in rural Hertfordshire at the Celtic Harmony Camp, Iron Age village at Brickendon near Hertford.

Visitors can experience the excitement of shooting a wooden longbow and enjoy this instinctive style of shooting guided by a team of qualified and experienced Great National Archery Society instructors supervised by Luca Parrella, a National Field Archery Coach.

Fancy it? Then why not enter our great competition to win a Robin Hood party for 10 children?

Guests celebrate Robin Hood style with woodland games and outlaw crafts with Robin and his men, or Marian and her ladies, and the Sheriff and his followers, led by an experienced and enthusiastic party host. They then take part in the Real Robin Hood archery tournament, led by a qualified Longbow archery instructor. All children over 7 years old will learn how to safely use a bow, score points and hit fun targets with a bow and arrow.

Parties are every Saturday and Sunday in term time and guests can choose the time of their event. There are three party sessions to choose from between 10am and noon, noon-2pm or 2pm-4pm. A tailor-making service is also available. The package covers two hours of fun and exciting outdoor activities for over 7’s around Celtic Harmony’s 13-acre site, with food, party bags and even party Invitations thrown in. The Longbow Archery Course party is great fun and designed for older children who are keen to develop their shooting skills as well as have fun in a robin hood tournament.

Parties are split into two teams - Robin and his men or Marian and her ladies versus the Sheriff and his or her followers – to settle who really does rule the forest.

As well as Robin Hood party hats or Maid Marian party bags, the birthday package includes a choice of party food served under Celtic Harmony’s Feasting Shelter ranging from meat and vegetarian burgers and sausages to a cold buffet with both options including apple slices, vegetables, crisps, flapjacks or ginger bread and apple juice, cordial or water. Guests can also order a hand-made birthday cake from a local bakery or bring their own on the day.

Other party themes available at Celtic Harmony include Woodland Play for 4-6 year olds, King Arthur and Queen Guinevere for the 6-10s, a Longbow Archery Course Party or a Woodland Survival Course for those aged over eight.
