SCHOOLBOY William Pool wants to undertake the trip of a lifetime to the Himalayas - but he needs YOUR help.

William, 15, of Winder-mere Drive, Biggleswade, is appealing to Comet readers to help him raise £3,000 for the chance to take part in the trip to one of the most remote regions on Earth.

A pupil at Bedford Modern School, William is putting together plans to take part in the World Challenge Expedition in the summer of 2007 but he will have to raise the money to earn his ticket to trek among the mountains.

The team from his school will have to trek for days to a remote village in the mountains where they will take part in local community work.

A previous expedition to Botswana saw youngsters build a children's adventure playground, clearing jungle trails and doing work in a local school.

"This is the chance to go on a trip of a lifetime to a wonderful area of the world," said William.

"It is also a chance to help other people who are less fortunate than us.

"It is not a holiday and to be able to go I must raise £3,000 to cover all my costs.

"I am working hard earning as much money as possible doing all kinds of jobs. I am also hoping to organise a quiz night

"I have a year to get the money so I have got to be self-motivated and push myself. But I am determined to be on the plane to the Himalayas a year from now."
