PREPARATIONS are well under way for the fourth steam fair and country show at Stotfold Mill next month.

The event, organised by Stotfold Mill Preservation Trust, gets bigger and better every year, with promoters promising a weekend full of fun, excitement and entertainment. Perfect in fact, to let off some steam with the family.

There are numerous attractions to ensure there is something for everyone.

Jez Avery will perform a mountain bike show including wheelies and other extreme stunts.

The Adams Axemen will demonstrate their skills of the forester and lumberjack, which should be both fun and educational for the audience.

The Spectacular Knights of the Crusade will present two epic stories in full costume and plenty of audience participation is promised.

Animal lovers will have two dog shows to enjoy; the local sheep dog display and the dog agility competition.

Also, both teachers and pupils of Roecraft School will be on show; the children will perform a display of maypole dancing, while the teachers will host an art and craft activity.

In addition to all of this, there will be a kids zone, a vintage tractor display, archery, live music in a beer tent and, of course ferret racing!

The show is open from 10:30am to 5pm on May 6 and 7, raising money for the mill, which was gutted by fire in 1992.

Admission prices are £3 for adults and £1.50 for children and senior citizens. This includes free parking and a programme.
