EURO MP Richard Howitt got back in the saddle to officially launch a Bike Week extravaganza.
With 12 events over nine days including a teddy bears picnic, a cyclists' breakfast, and several easy cycles, and climaxing with a record entry for the 50-mile Stevenage Circular Cycle on Sunday, bike week is set to be one of the busiest ever.
Mr Howitt said: "Having an office in another country means I don't get to cycle to work too often but I do get on my bike as often as possible and Bike Week here in Stevenage is a great opportunity for families, friends and fun lovers to dust off the bikes in the shed, get out into the fresh air, and to travel interesting and varied cycle routes.
"Cycling is good for you, good for the environment and best of all you'll be in good company...it's wheelie good."
On the right are some cycle rides if you would like to take part in bike week. For more details call Tina on 01438 235881 or visit www.stevenagectc.info
