THIS year's Heart First Jog went down a storm.

The race, on Sunday at Knebworth House, was attended by around 500 runners and was a fundraising success, as event organiser and British Heart Foundation fundraiser Adam Brockett explained.

"Having that many people taking part was wonderful and everybody seems to have been in high spirits, even though the weather got a little worse for wear," Mr Brockett said.

"We have already raised £11,000 so far and we are expecting to get a total of around £20,000 by the time all the money comes in."

Although he didn't take part himself, as the organiser Mr Brockett still found himself quite busy during the day.

"I had to push a few cars out of muddy fields by the end of the day as the rains came down," he said.

The £11,000 collected so far is almost as much as was raised altogether last year, £11,500.
