Stevenage boss Graham Westley is confident of getting the three points against Peterborough on Saturday - providing his players tick all the right boxes.

Stevenage host play-off chasing Peterborough United at The Lamex, and while Boro are rooted to the bottom of League 1, Westley’s confidence remains high ahead of what looks to be a relegation battle.

Speaking to The Comet, he said: “Our intention at the weekend is to improve our performance to the best level anyone’s seen yet this season, and if we improve our performance levels to the best anyone’s seen yet this season, then I am sure we will more than match any side we play, whetther it be Saturday’s opponents or any other opponent in the league.

“It’s all about us getting our performance level right; if we defend as we can defend, if we play in a forward sense in a way which we can go forward, if we keep our energy levels right, we keep our intention to win the game right, then we will come away with the three points.

“But we have got to do all those things.”

In the earlier league fixture between the two sides this season, Lucas Akins’ goal sealed a 1-0 away victory for Stevenage, who also had Jimmy Smith dismissed for two bookable offences in the 64th minute.
