Thousands gathered on Sunday to remember those who gave their lives in service to their country.
Those who had come to pay their respects watched military parades by sea, army and air cadets, Royal British Legion members and scouts march with drums, pipes and bugles to war memorials across Comet country, before all fell silent as the eleventh hour struck.
Memorials in towns and villages were then decorated with poppy wreaths before services were held for the fallen in combat and those on active service today.
