Boro boss Graham Westley believes his side are "in the race" for the Blue Square Premier title ahead of this weekend's home clash against Hayes and Yeading.
Four points from Boro's last two away games at Luton Town and York City have given Westley's men a massive shot of confidence after disappointing home draws against Grays and Altrincham.
While Oxford United remain nine points ahead of Stevenage, who have a game in had over Chris Wilder's men, Westley is convinced his side have the capability to be challenging for top spot come the end of the season.
"I think we'll be strong and we are in the race, that's the most important thing at this stage," Westley told The Comet.
"I believe that if we are on our game then we will beat anyone in this league. If everyone plays to their potential then we won't have any problem at all.
