A watercolour specialist will be putting her painting techniques on display in Letchworth’s Garden Square Shopping Centre with a free demonstration on Monday.

Fiona Pruden, who will be taking classes at the Letchworth Settlement in September, will be on site between 11am and 3pm to answer questions and share her expertise.

Fiona said: “Students in my classes will be starting from the very beginning, learning brush-handling skills, basic drawing, colour mixing and methods of applying paint to paper – including the fascinating, exciting and unpredictable ‘wet-in-wet’.

“For more advanced painters, who have mastered the basics, I will introduce new approaches to painting covering planning, composition and creating impact in your paintings.

“Donkeys on a beach, garden flowers, harvest vegetables, autumn trees, a Santorini seascape and a misty woodland scene with toadstools and fungi are all on the agenda for the autumn term.”

The Settlement opens from September 2 for bookings with watercolour classes starting for 12 weeks from September 14.

Those interested can enrol by visiting www.letchworthsettlement.org.uk.
