A busy Hitchin road closed to traffic due to essential water mains work stemming from a sinkhole has reopened again this evening.
Brand Street in the centre of the town, which had been shut to motorists for the majority of this month is now open again to vehicles – after Anglian Water completed their mains work following the dip in the road.
A spokesman for Anglian Water told the Comet: “Our teams have completed the sewer repair on Brand Street.
“We thank everyone for their patience while we completed this essential repair.”
