POLICE are urging owners to remove satellite navigation systems and their brackets from vehicles once they leave them after six were stolen from vehicles in Potton and Sandy at the weekend.

Insp John Maries, of Biggleswade police, said: "The bracket is a clear indication the car has a sat nav and it is more than likely the owner has just shoved it under a seat or in the glove compartment when they have left the vehicle,

"Take the bracket out along with the sat nav when you leave the car is our advice and it might deter anyone breaking into a vehicle in the first place."

At the end of last year the area suffered a spate of sat nav thefts when over 30 were stolen.
