PLANS to tackle the weeds on the streets of North Herts have been brought forward because they are growing faster than usual due to the warm wet weather.
The district council's grounds maintenance team will soon be out and about spraying weed killer.
They will also be dealing with a lot of chickweed on the bedding displays on roundabouts and other public spaces.
Fast growing hedges will also need to be trimmed earlier than planned, before they block footpaths and sightlines.
Councillor Lynda Needham, the council's portfolio holder for environment, said: "It would be helpful if people whose hedges face the pavement could keep them in trim, too.
