A MAN who had been wanted by police has been arrested.George Jefford, who is 51 and from Stevenage, was sought after he failed to appear at the town magistrates court last December in relation to an offence of being in possession of an offensive weapon.

George Jefford, who is 51 and from Stevenage, was sought after he failed to appear at the town magistrates' court last December in relation to an offence of being in possession of an offensive weapon.
Police made a public appeal to help trace him in July and he was arrested yesterday (Tuesday) in Stevenage.
The media have been thanked for their help in publicising the search.
