Stevenage beat Coventry City in their final home pre-season match.

Boro won 2-1 thanks to two penalties in the second half – one from Simon Walton and the other from Roarie Deacon.

Marcus Tudgay, who joined the Sky Blues from Nottingham Forest last week, then pulled one back for the visitors, but Boro held on for the win.

Next up for Stevenage is a trip to St Albans City on Monday evening before Graham Westley’s men host Hartlepool United in their opening League 2 fixture on Saturday.
