Walkers who stepped out during last month’s Stevenage Walking Festival have seen the funds they raised handed over to their chosen good cause.

More than 400 people took part in the festival covering a total of 3,135 miles on sponsored treks in support of Crossroads Care Hertfordshire North, which provides respite breaks for full time family carers.

On behalf of the festival, Terry Ingle presented the charity’s Andrew Taylor with a cheque for more than £1,100 as part of events to mark National Carers Week. Andrew said: “We are very grateful to Terry and his team for generously raising much needed funds for our charity. It is so important that we continue to identify local family carers and give them a much needed break.”

Next year’s Stevenage Walking Festival will run from May 7 to 15, and again it will be raising funds for local good causes.
