Volunteers are needed for a 2km parkrun in Stevenage for children on Sundays, with youngsters encouraged to get involved after the weekly fun run was launched last month.
Parkrun is a free, weekly 5km timed run held at 443 locations around the world, including Fairlands Valley Park in Stevenage at 9am every Saturday.
Last month, a 2km event in the town, specifically for children aged four to 14, was established at Hampson Park in Webb Rise – helping young people enjoy the great outdoors.
There is no entry requirement and those taking part in the junior parkrun are not timed – it’s just for fun.
Volunteers, parents and participants head to Hampson Park Community Centre for post-event refreshments every week.
The junior parkrun is held every Sunday at 9am and participants just have to register once to take part. Visit www.parkrun.org.uk/stevenage-juniors.
