THE manager of the Volunteer Centre Stevenage is celebrating after passing an evaluation with flying colours.

The centre was awarded full marks after an assessment by Volunteering England on placing volunteers, marketing, good practice, developing opportunities, policy and strategic development.

Manager Julie Street was presented with a certificate by Stevenage mayor Simon Speller.

She said: "I am very proud of this achievement, it is a real testament to the hard work of the centre, all the volunteers and organisations that we work very closely with and a confirmation of the tremendous volunteering effort taking place across the town".
