A Virgin Media technician from Biggleswade has admitted stealing £600 worth of electrical equipment from the firm.

Stevenage magistrates heard that Robers Bogatirjovs, of Newtown Court, had taken the equipment and accessories over three years, between April 2013 and June this year.

Assisted in court by an interpreter, the 25-year-old Latvian pleaded guilty.

Chairman of the bench Kathryn Haskell ordered him to pay £600 in compensation to Virgin Media, a £280 fine, £87 in costs and a £28 victim surcharge – a total of £995.
