Wing mirrors have been smashed off cars and vans in a night of attacks on vehicles in Baldock.

Police believe the same people are responsible for the vandalism, which took place on Friday night and into Saturday morning.

Wing mirrors were knocked off a white Peugeot Expert van, a black Vauxhall Zafira and a blue Vauxhall Astra in The Leas – while a silver Mercedes-Benz in the same street had a wing mirror damaged, and a grey Ford Fiesta had its roof dented.

Wing mirrors were also damaged in The Rise – where a blue Citroen Xsara and a blue Peugeot 3008 were vandalised – and St Mary’s Way, where a white Ford Transit van and a red Ford KA were targeted.

The 10th incident took place in Weston Way, where the wing mirror of a blue Toyota Aygo was damaged.

Sgt Alan Clarke, who is investigating, said: “We believe that this mindless damage, which has left many local residents inconvenienced and out of pocket, was carried out by the same offender or offenders.

“I am appealing for anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area to get in touch.”
