TWO ad vans have been patrolling Comet country urging players to check their lottery tickets after a EuroMillions lottery jackpot of more than 63 million has remained unclaimed.

It has been revealed that the winner from this country bought their ticket in the Stevenage and Hitchin area, but has yet to come forward to claim their prize.

On Friday (today) representatives from The National Lottery patrolled in Stevenage Town Square and Hitchin Market Place to appeal to the public to check their tickets.

Camelot winners’ senior advisor, Andy Carter, said: “We’re in Stevenage and Hitchin today to appeal to people to check their tickets and for the lucky winner to come forward.

Mr Carter said: “This is the fifth biggest prize to be won in the UK and we are here to jog people’s memory. The ticket was bought during the jubilee weekend. It was also the school half term holiday and people may have come to the area to visit family. I am appealing for people to check their tickets and think back to that weekend.”

The full amount the ticket-holder has won is 63,837,543.60.

The two ad vans will patrol Comet country over the weekend to encourage people to look for the winning ticket.

The general area that the ticket was bought in has been released as no claim was made within two weeks of the draw.

This is designed to encourage tickets to be checked but also to enable the ticket-holder to remain anonymous if they wish.

While the ticket was bought in Stevenage or Hitchin, it is possible the buyer comes from further afield.

The winning numbers were 5, 11, 22, 34, 40 and the Lucky Star numbers were 9 and 11.

If you have the winning ticket, call the National Lottery Line on 0845 910 0000.

The ticket-holder has until 11pm on Wednesday, December 5 2012 to make their claim.
