Two suspected burglars were arrested in Hitchin last night after a police dog tracked them down – finding one of them hiding under a caravan.
Police dog Harley was despatched with officers to Meadowbank, north of Cambridge Road, at 12.08am after reports that two people were trying to break into a home there.
The police dog unit said officers contained the area allowing Harley to track, and he found a suspect nearby. He then found a second suspect under a caravan, as well as some property.
A Herts police spokeswoman told the Comet that a 20-year-old Hitchin man and a 16-year-old boy from Luton were arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary. Both remain in police custody.
