Two people suffered stab injuries in an assault in Stevenage town centre in the early hours of this morning.

At around 3.10am an argument broke out between a number of people in Town Square.

A 22-year-old man suffered a stab wound behind his ear and one to his hand. He was taken to hospital for treatment.

A 19-year-old woman was stabbed in the hip.

An area of The Quadrant – behind The Plaza – has been taped off today while scenes of crime officers carry out investigative work.
