LUCKILY two men walked away from this crash that blocked the southbound carriageway of the A1 (M) between junctions 8 and 7 last night (Wednesday) uninjured.
It happened after the lorry carrying bottles of water jack knifed striking the car and ended up facing in the wrong direction. Emergency services received seven calls about the accident.
Ambulance service spokesman Gary Sanderson said: "On our arrival the lorry was facing north up the southbound carriageway. The car that was involved in the collision was severely damaged. Two men, one from the car and one from the lorry were checked over by paramedics and did not require hospital treatment. They were both very, very lucky indeed.
