Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man in his 30s was found with serious injuries following reports of an assault in Codicote High Street.
Police were called shortly before 3pm yesterday and the road was closed off while investigations were carried out.
Two men, aged 26 and 30, have been arrested in connection with the incident and are currently in police custody.
Police are trying to trace a third man.
Det Chief Insp Jo Walker from the Beds, Cambs and Herts Major Crime Unit, said: “Specialist detectives are carrying out a full investigation to establish exactly what happened.
“Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has any information about what happened is asked to contact police on 101.”
The victim remains in a stable condition.
