Two men have been arrested in Stotfold this morning after a police chase related to an armed robbery.
It is alleged that two men – brandishing a weapon – held up the Post Office in London Road, Bedford, at about 9.10am and escaped with a quantity of cash.
The men then got into a vehicle which was then spotted heading south on the A6.
Police pursued the vehicle through a number of villages before heading into Stotfold at about 9.40am, when the men got out in Baldock Road and ran through a garden.
The men, aged 25 and 52, were followed by police and arrested a few minutes later.
Forensic work is continuing at both scenes and house to house enquiries are taking place.
