TWO off-licences in Comet country will close following the announcement a week ago that drinks operator First Quench had gone into administration.
The company operates the Wine Rack, Threshers, Victoria Wine, The Local, Haddows and Bottoms Up brands.
The stores that will be axed are the Wine Rack, Hermitage Road, Hitchin, and The Local, in The Glebe, Chells, Stevenage. They are likely to close by December 6.
At the Hitchin Wine Rack a member of staff said the closure came as no surprise as the store was already earmarked for closure. It will mean a total of four jobs going.
Nobody at The Local in The Glebe was available for comment as the phone was not answered despite repeated attempts to contact them.
