A two-car accident brought traffic almost to a standstill between junction 8 and 7 southbound on the A1(M) this morning.
The two cars collided just before 7am. Neither driver was injured.
But the damaged vehicles blocked part of one of the carriageways causing a long tailback of traffic back to Coreys Mill until they were removed.
The knock-on effect was slow moving traffic throughout the rush-hour period on the A1(M southbound.
