Two men were arrested in Letchworth on Saturday night after a fight in which it is alleged a metal bar was smashed over someone’s head.
Officers rushed to the address in Haysman Close after being called at 6.45pm, and found a man with swelling and a cut to the front of his head.
A man from Letchworth was arrested on suspicion of GBH, and a man from Stevenage was arrested on suspicion of affray.
Both are aged in their 40s and have been bailed by police until March 12. A police spokeswoman said the arrested men and the alleged victim were known to each other.
An ambulance officer and crew treated a man at the scene for a head injury, and took him to Stevenage’s Lister Hospital for further treatment. An ambulance service spokeswoman said his injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
