Two people were arrested following fighting at the Stevenage v Luton Town local derby at The Lamex this afternoon.
The trouble started after Luton’s Paul Benson was sent off for a challenge on Boro’s Tom Conlon with five minutes remaining.
Around six or seven fans ran onto the pitch from the away end known as the Austin Stand in an attempt to confront the home support.
One man jumped into the standing terrace known as the East Stand which was full of Boro fans and started trading blows with another supporter.
A police spokesman said: “There was a minor incident at the end of the game which resulted in the arrest of two people on suspicion of football-related public order offences.
“No one was hurt and the incident was contained by stewarding at the club and with support of police.”
