THIS transatlantic comedy follows happily-married English couple Sean (Stephen Mangan) and Beverly Lincoln (Tamsin Greig) after their hit British TV show is commissioned in the US. But they soon find out no-one has even seen the show at their new network in LA, and have to fight to protect their show from a brutal stateside facelift – with disastrous results.
Theatre veteran Richard Griffiths, star of the British version, is replaced by Matt LeBlanc, playing a larger-than-life version of himself, to the Brits’ horror. The three soon find themselves in a complicated triangle, which threatens not only the show but also their marriage. The show-within-a-show concept is a familiar one to viewers now, but the chemistry between the three leads gives Episodes its charm. Catch the early shows on iPlayer if you’ve missed them.
