TAKE a trip through time this Saturday and see how the UK's first new town has developed over the last 60 years.

Stevenage Museum's new displays which trace the history of the town from 1946 to the present day will be opened by Mayor Simon Speller at midday.

There will also be live music, prize quizzes and bus tours of the new town.

The galleries include a 1950s kitchen that visitors will be allowed to walk into and explore. There is also a record sound booth where you can listen to sounds from each decade.

Youngsters are also catered for and can join time traveller Sam as he makes his way from attending a Stevenage Borough football match in the 1990s to meeting a Roman centurion.
