Hitchin Bowls Club extends an 'end of season invitation' to anyone who wishes to try the sport, to come to the greens in Bancroft Gardens. All you need is flat-bottomed trainers (to protect the bowling surface) and the club will lend the bowls. Access to the bowling facilities can be arranged up to September 23 by telephoning Ken Porter on 01462 433255. There are players aged from nine to 90 years but more are needed.
