TRUANCY figures released today (Thursday) show pupils are bunking off more than ever across the country, but in Herts and Beds attendance is up.
Figures released by the Government show that the average rate of unauthorised absence from maintained secondary schools in England increased year on year.
But Comet country counties bucked that trend. In Herts the average number of half-days missed dropped from 7.51 per cent to 6.94 per cent, while in Beds the figures were down from 6.44 per cent to 6.36 per cent.
