Two men out of a three-strong gang have avoided prison after being sentenced yesterday (Wednesday) for attempting to steal a cash machine.

Thieves Robert Francais, Krstofer Follos and Derek Taylor, all from Bedford, tried to steal an ATM machine from outside the Co-op on Mulberry Road, Stotfold, on March 2 of this year.

Francais, 34, of Durham Close, Follos, 33, of Staveley Street,and Taylor, 47, of Beauvais Square, all pleaded guilty to burglary.

Attending the sentencing at St Albans Crown Court, Francais was handed a jail term of 30 months and was disqualified from driving for 12 months, while Follos and Taylor both received two year prison sentences, but each was suspended for two years.
