A Hitchin woman who sadly died after a collision with a car in Hitchin last week has been described as “the heart of our family” in an emotional tribute by her father.

Natalie Carloss, 32, died after a collision involving a white BMW in Arlesey Road at around 10pm last Wednesday, March 6.

Emergency services were called, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her father Jerry Larner paid an emotional tribute to his daughter, telling the Comet: “Natalie was the most caring, kindest, prettiest, hardworking and giving girl I have ever met. She was the heart of our family.

“I could not have wished for a better daughter. I am so very proud of her.

“She will always be one of my best friends and will always be in my heart.

“I love her more than words can say.”

Natalie worked as a dog groomer, running a shop in Brentford and Handsome Hounds kennels at her father’s farm off the A505 near Royston.

“Nat was adventure-loving, funny and beautiful,” said her best friend Catherine Bryant.

“She was known and loved in her local community in both Hitchin and Baldock.

“We will be having a gathering at The Victoria in Hitchin next weekend. All are welcome to come and say goodbye.”

The family said an exact date and time for the gathering was still to be set.

Police launched an appeal for more information about the collision on Thursday.

The investigating officer, PC Felicity Moody, said: “Our thoughts are very much with Natalie’s family at what is a very distressing and difficult time for them.

“We are doing all we can to determine the circumstances around this collision.

“Therefore I would ask anyone who was travelling on Arlesey Road – in particular the stretch between Hitchin Lavender and Arlesley New Road – around the time of the collision on Wednesday night and believe they saw Natalie to please contact us as soon as possible.”

If you witnessed the collision, or have any information, call the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference ISR 874 of March 6.
