A SERVING police officer has died from a heart attack, aged 50.

Pc Tim Sibley, who worked for Herts Police's traffic management unit based in Hitchin, died at his home on December 30.

Pc Sibley joined Hertfordshire Constabulary in 1976 and worked in the traffic department where he remained for the rest of his career.

Sgt Mark Hill, who was a colleague for 20 years, said: "He was very professional and worked extremely hard.

"As well as being a brilliant officer, Tim was a great friend. He was a very private person but you could always rely on him and he had a wicked sense of humour. He was a great person, a pleasure to have on the team and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
