A SIMPLE parade and a two minute silence marked the second anniversary of the Harrow Court fire tragedy last week.
Firefighters Michael Miller and Jeff Wornham died on February 2, 2005 trying to rescue resident Natalie Close from the burning Stevenage tower block.
Ms Close also died.
Last Friday the firefighters' colleagues gathered at Stevenage fire station to remember their friends.
The bell which forms part of the memorial set up to Michael and Jeff was rung to mark the beginning and end of the two minute silence.
Station commander Dave Stokes said: "Although we were conscious that it was two years ago it was still quite emotional for us.
"It was a fitting tribute. It was a dignified moment to remember two very brave men and the lady who died.
