To link in with the festival, the Triangle Community Garden will be open to visitors from 12pm to 6pm
Plants will be on sale to raise funds for the latest garden project, a pilot scheme offering training and experience in gardening and environmental conservation to people with learning disabilities and mental ill-health.
The last of the regular Triangle Festivals took place in 1999 but residents felt they would like to see them thrive again. They approached North Hertfordshire District Council and have received support from officers there.
Talvinder Parmar, chairman of the Triangle Festival committee, said: "This is an event for all the family and for all the communities in the area.
"We are living in a very peaceful town and this festival will help to promote strong community links. It is going to be a very nice day for everyone.
"We would like to say a big thank you to Margaret Bracey and Stuart Izzard, the community development officers at NHDC.
"Without their help this event could not have taken place."
No glass bottles or containers will be allowed on the site and there is no public parking available.
The festival will be held in Ransom's Rec off Nightingale Road from noon until 7.30pm.
Talvinder would like to hear from anyone who could help with stewarding. Call him on 0790 8017826.
