A MAJOR train operator serving stations in Comet country has announced it wants to find out from customers where improvements to their services can be made.

First Capital Connect will be investing in improved CCTV, customer information screens, additional help points and better public announcements across the 74 stations it manages.

The company operates services out of Knebworth, Stevenage, Hitchin, Baldock, Letchworth GC, Arlesey, Sandy and Biggleswade.

Each station has been surveyed and a series of consultation sessions will now take place, with First Capital saying they are seeking the views of its customers and stakeholders, including local councils, passenger groups, commuter associations and MPs.

Karen Boswell, customer services director for the company, said: "We value the opinions of all those who have an interest in our operations.

"We are keen to utilise this valuable collective knowledge and look forward to welcoming those who would like to come along and provide us with their feedback."

A consultation session will take place at Hitchin station, where Stevenage and Knebworth stations will also be discussed, on September 20.

A further meeting will be held at Letchworth GC station on September 27 where Baldock station will also be discussed.

Facilities at Arlesey, Biggleswade and Sandy will be discussed at a meeting at Huntingdon on September 26. All the meetings will take place between noon and 3pm.

Diagrams of existing facilities and layouts will be available and feedback forms will be provided for all those who attend.
