Firefighters cut a woman free from her car after a crash on the A505 near Lilley this morning.

The woman sustained minor head injuries and was trapped in the Vauxhall Corsa after the crash, which occurred at about 9.30am on the stretch of road between Hitchin and Luton. There were no other vehicles involved.

The scene was attended by police, three fire engines – one from Hitchin, two from Bedfordshire – an ambulance crew and officer, and a rapid response vehicle.

Firefighters cut the woman, in her 20s, free from the vehicle and she was taken to Luton & Dunstable Hospital for further treatment.

The car was recovered and the road cleared by 11.20am.
