This was the scene on Sunday evening as passers-by came across a wrecked car blocking a village road near Hitchin.
The blue Vauxhall Corsa, which was found at about 5.40pm, seems to have crashed into a nearby garden wall in Holwell’s Pirton Road.
Police said the vehicle was recovered and that enquiries were being carried out to trace its registered owner.
